Financial Protection

Hidden History Travel is a member of the Travel Trust Association. This association exists in order to protect you, the customer, with 100% financial protection, and has been doing so for over fifteen years. Every penny you pay to us is protected by the association. It is the strongest consumer financial protection in the travel industry today.

If for any reason we financially fail or cease trading, the Travel Trust Association will liaise with our suppliers to ensure that your holiday goes ahead unaffected. If for any reason this is not possible, the association will administer the refund of your money paid to us for the holiday. Thus, you can book your holiday secure in the knowledge that the association will protect you from the moment you book with us.

How does it work?

There are four key elements:

  1. Trust Account: When you book with us your money is paid into our trust account which is controlled and administered by independent TTA trustees. We cannot remove that money without authorisation from the trustees. They ensure that your money remains in the account in order to pay the suppliers we have contracted for the holiday you have booked, or to be refunded to you in the event that we fail to supply your holiday.
  2. Guarantee: In addition, the TTA will back up our trust account with a financial guarantee of £11,000 per passenger. This means you will still be reimbursed if through fraud or dishonesty your money is not available in the trust account.
  3. Supplier Failure: The TTA will also insure us against the financial failure of our onward suppliers, such as hotels and agents. This means that where we have paid our suppliers in advance and they fail before supplying their services, the insurance monies enable us to pay for an alternative supplier or to refund you.
  4. ATOL: If you book your flights with us you will also get ATOL protection. This scheme is provided by the Civil Aviation Authority and ensures that you do not lose money or get stranded abroad through failure of airlines before or during your holiday. If you book your own flights they may not be ATOL protected, even if you book direct with the airline or with an online search facility.

In the event of a breakdown of communication or a serious disagreement between us and our customers the Travel Trust Association will act as an independent intermediary liaising between both parties.
